A Heli invasion, what is a Heli Invasion, you might ask. Well, this event is an invasion of R/C Heli enthusiasts for a dramatic weekend of heli fun. If you have never been to a Heli Fun-Fly before, you are missing something quite special, and this event focuses on fun, learning and mutual respect.
But, starting this year we decided to take the Fun-Fly concept one step further and make a grand-event, the mother of all Fun Fly's... the inaugural, annual Heli Invasion.
Organized by a leading local Virginia Club, the Fredericksburg Area RC Club, based in none other than Fredericksburg, VA is hosting an AMA-Sanctioned, balls-to-the-wall Fun Fly and F3C competition.
If you've been to the FARCC field you know how awesome a flying site it is, and if you have never been there, get to the event to check it out. FARCC is really a great club with amenities that have to be seen to believe.
So starting this year, Fredericksburg Area RC Club and our sponsors Hobby Hangar, Align & Outrage RC, are pulling out all the stops, leveraging all of our friends and industry contacts to bring you a Fun Fly, actually a destination event unlike any other on the East Coast.
Pros, Demos and More...
With some of the biggest names in the hobby already lined up, this event will probably be one of the best events to see your favorite pilots up close and personal. In addition to the standard noon-time demos, we also will be featuring some unique and exciting "other" events that will really allow you to learn from the pros.
With an international roster, and commitments from many of the major manufacturers this event will be a fun and exciting event, one that will become a mainstay on the Fun-Fly circuit for years to come.
Educational Events
To take it one step further, we are planning on this event being more than flying, we are hosting a whole educational weekend. We will have many industry experts on hand to help advise you on everything from heli setup to flying techniques to building. Folks this Fun Fly is not going to be like any other, its going to be a weekend of heli-mania... a sort of freakish adventure into what we all call a "hobby".
Vendors, Fun & Flying
But don't let all this pro and celebrity talk fool ya'. This event is focused on carrying forth the motto of a Fun-Fly... fun and flying. From the start we have engineered this event to finish off the season with a bang. The field is awesome, a huge open flight line with 12 flight stations running on two flight lines. In addition to the normal Fun-Fly activities we will also be hosting an F3C competition, so if you never seen one, be sure to check it out.
And what would an event be without vendors. Already we have teamed up with one of the premiere R/C Hobby Shops in the area, Hobby Hangar of Chantilly, VA. Hobby Hangar is the sole East Coast Dealer of the Synergy N9, in addition the Hobby Hangar crew will be on hand with a booth chock-full of all the latest Heli toys.
We also have teamed up with two of the biggest names in the Industry Align and Outrage RC. The Outrage crew will be on-hand with all of their latest products
But it doesnt end there, we have some things you have seen before and some things you havent... like a giant 20' outdoor movie screen, weather-proof sound system and much, much more.
