In addition to our general raffle, this year the 2009 Heli-Invasion will be working with Henry Caldwell of Outrage RC for a very "special" raffle to help raise money for a special family in need, that has been struck with cancer. In addition we also ask that you make small donation as well. Please read this message from Henry himself.
"Hello All, I need your help. I have a Forman that is in a terrible situation. He is a single parent trying to raise 3 children. Which the youngest is 14 months old. His youngest has been sick for the past week , she was carried to the doctor and the first thing the doctor did was call the police. They accused the father of child abuse. While stating to the police he would never abuse his children , his daughter was carried to the hospital for tests. The police would not even let him know where his daughter even was. Finally after they were finished accusing him of child abuse, they told him wher his daughter was. Well after several test Guess What? His daughter has stage 4 cancer.
The cancer is in her bones, stomach, and lympnodes. This hit home with me because I have twins that are 3 yrs old. It's bad when anyone has cancer. But it's really bad when you have a child that has not even had a chance at life. I'm trying to get the owner of the company to give him a temp layoff, so he can be there by his daughter's side and still get his un-employment. He is about to have to take alot of time off from work to go to Charleston to get stem cell transplants. So what I'm asking of you is to make a donation to his paypal account. I would appreciate it very much. I hope this is not asking to much, any little bit will help . I will post his paypal info here very soon. He has no idea I'm doing this, nor would he have EVER ask me too.I would also like to say thank you to Helidirect for thier raffle donations . Thank ALL of that donate, this means the world to me. "
Please send all PayPal Donations to: anthonymcclaflin@charter.net
Just when I thought I was done receiving raffle donations, HeliDirect and Outrage have both given big with 3 kits. From Outrage we gave gotten the brand new Velolcity 50. And from HeliDirect an HDX HC-500 and a Outrage G5. All I can say is THANK YOU, Outrage RC and HeliDirect!!
At the 2008 Heli-Invasion one of the "Heli-Invasion Bests" was Curtis Youngblood's Autorotation Clinic and the Airplane/Heli demo. Well, Curtis will be back this year for a repeat performance. There are very few pilots that have the experience, knowledge and raw talent of Curtis and he really is a joy to watch. So if you want to catch "The Iceman" in person, then you know where to be.
I know that some people like free T-Shirts, some people dont... so here is my question. Would you rather pay a little more for entry fee and get a "free" t-shirt, or would you rather pay a little less and then have the option to purchase a t-shirt??? Take the poll and and let us know.
Last week at IRCHA, I was able to catch up with Marcus Kim of Team Avant and he was able to confirm his attendance at the 2009 Heli-Invasion. This is great news for the event, as Marcus always brings his unique style to the flight line and we can always count on Marcus for some entertaining flying. So Marcus, welcome back and see you in October.
"Wow, amazing!!" That just about all I can say. Jeff Green has stepped up big time, by donating a T-Rex 700 to the 2009 Heli-Invasion. Not many fun fly's are able to secure a .90 sized heli as a raffle prize, let alone a top-notch 90 kit. But thanks to Jeff Green and HeliWholesale, one lucky Heli-Invasion participant will be walking away with 1 Trex 700.
A big thank you, to Greg Gomes of MRC, for donating a Hirobo SDX 50 to the raffle prize pool. Combine this with the donation from HeliWholesaler and we have 2 heli kits up for grabs in the raffle. So folks if you want your chance at a heli, make sure you make it to the 2009 Heli-Invasion.
u-neak | DESIGNS has confirmed their committment to the 2009 Heli-Invasion. And with a $300 donation to the "Do It In the Dark" Night Fly competition. This year the Heli-Invasion will feature cash prizes for both the amateurs and the pros. So this should hopefully entice everyone to fly just a little bit harder!!
